policy about maps on TV servers

I'm curious to learn more bout the way map rotation is decided on TV. I know about the importance of Avanti on TV1 and other servers, but how the other maps are selectionned?

What I usually hate about pub servers is that anytime other maps are played than 2fort there is a big dropdown of llamas not able to play other maps. I like 2fort, mind you.

Here at the Ville, I found interesting that ppl stay to play on obscure maps like Acropolis or Casbah, Turkeyburgers, etc. Someone mentionned Openfire, that's a map that could indeed be very interesting to play here. And there are others.

So how is that decided? Once a month? Biweekly? Of course there are always maps that some ppl hate while some other like them, and nobody is ever happy

But I think a change of maps once in a while could be fun

It really helps when we like the map also!

We listen and try out maps that look cool and some are tried in rotation. New maps are a fickle mistress. Some maps that are lots of fun to play just dont attract anyone. Others play fine.

It is hard to get new custom maps into play due to the nature of downloading. It takes time for enough people to get the game installed so everyone can join when the map comes up.

We have admin meeting where these things are discussed.

The best thing to do is mention the maps you like in the forums and if enough people want it, and it fits the Ville it may get on.

Remember a lot of stuff has been tried and for one reason or another has not taken off.

Acropolis2 is fun. Casbah is just crap, and the only reason I stay on it, is because there is no other good server up at the time with people on it.

Ok, I get a better idea how it is done. The other day there was an announcement that TV something would get this map and this map in the rotation, etc. When I saw that I went to the files section and I got those maps.

So if I may suggest something, maybe you could post somewhere on the website the server's map rotation. I know you can already find this information in the "current players" menu, but I'm thinking that not everybody got what it takes to see that menu correctly.
