I don't have this thing you call lag? What is it? I don't ever have a ping over 90. My network can beat up your network.

Yeah only on one do I get anything higher than like 90. On some of the servers, like 4 and 5, I can get aoud 40-50...mmmmmm, OSU network, I love you.

Well...looking at the fact that I had my computer privileges revoked for going on gamespot during my lunch hour...I doubt I will be using my school's computers for games any time soon. |

I'm in a crappy middle school, we arn't allowed to use our school's network, even though we have a freaken T1. I want to run a server like TV1, 2, and 3 only up when people arn't in the building, but my school probably would be gay and say no.

I think My OC12 with OC3 backbone trumps your dual T3.

our gigabit ethernet backbone(1000 Mbps) simply crushes your oc-3 backbone (155 Mbps).
BTW, we have a dual OC3 Internet connection, not T3.

The only problem with school networks (exp. college's is that they are sharred between all other users) Sure they're a big pipe, but you don't get to use it all by yourself. At my highschool I *believe* we are running off a fraction t3. You can sure tell when it goes down though, falls back on the ole single 56k for the entire school (old being system used last year). I don't think that school admin's know enough about the internet to even approach them about running a server, plus the graphic language images would probably get your idea shot down. Hehe. I wish I could run a local server off my school's connection after hours, it would be fun to mess around with something like that.
Oh, and darkw0r1...about servers, they don't have to be terribly powerful to be effective. The servers I think you are speaking of need no more power than to run the software needed to route packets of information. Most consumer routers aren't nearly as powerful as a p1. Oh and about monitors...most servers don't need a monitor, and even if they do, the quality wouldn't affect network performance.

My problem isn't my ping, it's my fps. If I'm lucky I can get around 15 for TV 1. I'm not sure what's the backbone behind fps, so I have no idea what the problem is. I only know that my usualy 5-10 fps is bad |
