DOD is freaking me out! Here I was prone waiting for an enemy snipe to pop out when I turn around to check my back. There is Llama Beans We are face to face both prone, I allied, he axis.. a moment passes as we both stare into each others eyes from rifle barrel length. A moment of indecision passes as I realize he is Axis.. I fire.. blood spurts out his head. AHHHH I killed Llama Beans...I dont know what he was thinking but he probably has dreams, hopes too.....See what I mean

I love the realism. It's intense, but I find myself getting into the game so much more because of the real life physics of the game. It's nice to see that you can't fire a gun while climbing a ladder or a rope. And you can't fire a gun while running, or while crawling around. I've heard people complain about it in game, but it's nice to play a mod that uses real physics to create a realistic environment.

I have to agree 100%. When I play the game now, I feel like I'm in part of the scenes from Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.

Last night we were on Caen2, I think, and I found myself as an Allied machine gunner. I found a window on the second floor of a building to deploy on as the Axis team was running out into the street to claim a point. I must have cut four of them down before the rest made it to cover! The MG tracers are very cool too.

Way to go DoD team!

The shovel kill is brutal! The sound it makes against someone's neck combined with the blood splatcha, is enough to give anyone the creeps!

Well, I am glad that you are enjoying the DoD mod. It helps to have a server that you can trust to have fun without too many headaches. I don't really look at it as realistic physics, but a close 'facsimile thereof'.

It may be a long time before we can really feel the physics of that MP44 or the MG42 as they bruise and pound our shoulders. As our muscles lock up from carrying the weapon for hours and hours because it wieghs 55 pounds. Oh, and what about the ammo we are carrying that isn't light! Especially if you are a Grenadier; something like 13 clips of ammo. plus every class carries a Box of MG ammo ("h" drops MG ammo). My legs and back are already getting tired just thinking about the 'real' physics of the game! LOL! Anyway, I am truly happy that you all are enjoying DoD, because I have for a very long time...

There are moments like this:

and the thunder is crashing or a couple of Mustangs fly overhead. Those little things that make it special... I think we need Ramelle on the rotation, its supposedly from the movie Saving Ryan's Privates. Watch out for the bridge its a hot spot on that one!

I always have a good ping like 65 or lower. But when I encounter an enemy, I start to lag really bad.

Goldom, you run up to it and hit your "use" button. Good luck! I've played DOD for quite some time now and I have maybe thrown back 10! It's just luck of the draw and most of the time you lose!
