If you're playing engie and want to build an SG far from resupply (water in crossover2, outside NME tunnel in acropolis2, etc etc...)

Just do the math... it takes 390 metal/cells to get a lvl 3 SG... you can carry 200... but to build it, you'll need to run to that spot 5 times (3 times to get there, 2 times to resupply)

Since you carry 200, there has to be a way to do it with only 2 trips... there is:

Here's my tip: Build level 1, leaving you with 70 metal, choke on your own 'nade (and leave a bag with 70 metal), run out, upgrade gun to level 2, grab your previous corpse, upgrade to lvl 3. Only took 2 trips that way!

Good clever idea Bitter!!!

sometimes what I do is build a disp close by and then build my sg,

this will sustain you when you are far from packs

Dont' ever underestimate the power of the disp, in the stat-whore days I would get at least 50 kills a week with disp's. And it's a great spy spotter on a non-neo map.

// DISPENSER bind press "e" again to explode dispencer
alias superdisp "build; menuselect 1; menuselect 5; detdispenser"
bind "e" "superdisp"

Use it... it rulez

Thats one of my biggest peeves when playing NG nobody drops me bags and everyone coming out of respawn with full health and armor grabing bags. It really gets me at cap 3 of Avanti.

Oh yeah, I've done that a few times... usually when my dispenser is already being used for something (resupply, blocking doorway, etc)

Now if you all want to be a TRUE teammate, stand on your own 'nade when you're not an engie, so your engie can have the pack!

Or, if you have half a brain, you can save the grenade and discard instead

When you discard extra ammo, it doesn't throw down very much metal though, right? I've picked up 50 from a bag before, but never more than that from a discarded bag... Off of corpses though... that's a jackpot

Oh, another tip... unless you're another engie, DO NOT pick up the bag you see an engie drop who's just used this advice... that'd be particularly annoying.

That also works good on avanti. Run down to one with 200 and kill yourself then respawn and go build your sg beside where you left the full 200 bag. I try to throw bags but on avanti if I'm switching classes to defend I try to run to 1 and kill myself beside a sg leaving a full bag. I have often wondered why more people dont do this. It makes it a lot ezier for the engi's.

There is nothing wrong with that, but to make it much easier, if you type "detdispensor" (yes, with an o) in the console, your dispenser blows up. so all you would have to do is "bind e detdispensor" and press e and it will blow up. And another thing, i wouldn't recommend binding e to that as it is normally your use key.
