Mic Setup Help

Ok I purchased a sweet mic and I can not get it to work through TFC. I have activated it through my Multimedia Volume controls. I can hear myself until I enter TFC.

When I d-loaded the latest patch (20 years ago) I recall saying "no" to the voice communication stuff. Is this my prob? Do I need to reinstall the freaking patch to get the goodies? Bah! Something so simple causing me such problems! Such is computers. Any help is much appreciated thank you.

So, you said no to "Do you wish to enable Voice communication in this mod"? You should be able to go into your config file and check to see if voicemod is enabled.
In the TFC GUI, under configuration/controls, is "Use Voice Communication" the first item in the list of keyboard controls?

Another place to look is under Mulitplayer/Customize: there will be a check box called "Enable Voice in this Mod" and a volume control for Voice transmitting and recieving. If those are there, you're in business. I always set both levels to the highest they can go, so I know people will hear me, and so I can hear them. It doesn't always stay set that way, but It's easy to fix it.

Thx Snag, I've done all that and it still doesn't work. BAH! I tried d-loading the latest patch again but TheVille link is dead and planetHalf-Life link is dead! BAH!

voice_scale "1.000000"
voice_enable "1"

Is this correct?

run voice_tweak.exe in your HL folder do the test there then click on system set up if u need to

Where is this mysterious system setup button? I have yet to see it. It does not offer me that button in the voice_tweak option. It says to click it, but where is it?

You probably don't have it since you told it no when it asked if you wanted to run voice config... But i dunno. It should, otherwise, just be in your start window, under Sierra or whatever you have the folder as.

The TFC consol tells me "unable to initialize wavein." "You will be unable to speak to other players". I have already resinstalled the latest full patch and said yes to the sound. It did not help. Bah. Anyone have any ideas?

BAH! BAH! BAH! Stoopud microphone! I have done all that I know. It just won't freaking work.

I have taken a vow not to play until I can get this stoopud thing working!

My spare time will now be devoted to making my mic work.
