Go to your shortcut for DoD, and add "-heapsize xxx000" to the command line.
Step by step?
Right click your DOD shortcut. Select properties.
Add "-heapsize xxx000" to the end of your "Target" string- the one with hl.exe(or for cs users cstrike.exe)-console -game dod etc. in it.
***Where the xxx is you put how many mbs of ram you have on your comp.***
For example, my target on the Dod shortcut looks like this(I have cs):
C:SierraCounter-Strikecstrike.exe -console -game dod -heapsize 128000
I actually have 64 mbs of ram but i played around with the total and found out that this works better for me so you should play around with the total to see what is right for you.
Now start DoD from this shortcut.
What does this do? This will give HL more memory. Because DoD 2.0 is rather more memory intensive.
Another thing you can do to help is to go to http://www.analogx.com and download MaxMem, this will free up more system memory.
This is kind of confusing so if it doesn't work or you are not sure how to do this go to the message boards at http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com it is all there.
