I have been tooling with worldcraft and I think I am ready to start my creation. I want to make a Ville based map with a complete Ville theme. It will have a merchandise store with models of TheVille merchandise. It will have "hall of forums" (death room). And much more. Couple things I need are:

1. Robert, can I have your permission to use the merchandise pictures to create models? My friend has an amazing modeling program and he is going to help create them.

2. Anyone willing to help me would me much appreciated! The more that help, the faster we can get it finished.

I am starting on it this week. It should be a great map. Avanti meets shortbus with a Ville theme! I'm thinking a golf cart instead of a bus though. . . Any ideas you peeps would like to submit are totally welcome!

You better put in some kick @ss sniping spots, because we all know how much fun those are!

If I could help, I would, but I am inept at worldcraft. I have it, but have NO idea how to use it.

I am pretty good with worldcraft now. i am working on a map now that uses the Textures from Avanti and it looks pretty good, ill put a pic with this post. The R_speeds are good too, They don't go over 400 anywhere. I still have at least 2 months on this map though.

Someone needs to make a ville city map, if i knew how to use worldcraft (now would be a nice time to direct me to a website with a wc tutorial) I would make a map that was a big city with 3 'hoods: The presidential hood, the players hood, and lammaville.

The presidential hood would have a big presidential mansion. The player's hood would have a bar, apartments, a club (like the one in breakfastonia) and some other cool crap. Llama ville would just be rows upon rows of cages, containing llamas.

This is the story behind the map:
Robert E Lee (prez) was playing in the ville one day and all of a sudden a bunch of llamas attacked! He was about to admin_slay all of them, when he realised that he had *GASP* forgotten his admin password. So here he was caught with his pants down in front of a bunch of big mean nasty llamas. So what does he do? He calls upon the regulars to come and save him.

Scoring system
The attackers and the prez start at the bottom of the ville city. They have to move all the way up to the presidential mansion, where Robert E. Lee has his admin password written in his underpants (he forgot to wear a pair that day). But to do that, they have to get past llamaville, go all the way up to the player's hood, where they have to go to the bar and get Rob a drink. Once they succesfully get rob a drink at the bar their team gets 5 points. Once they do that, they have to move up to the casino, and Rob has to gamble at the 1. craps table 2. Slot machines 3. blackjack table. They get 5 points for each gamble. After that, they have to move up to the club and Rob has to "use" some of the foxy ladies who are dancing there. They get 5 points for doing that. After that they have to move their way up to the presidential mansion. Before they can get into the presidential mansion, however they have to go into the outhouse and unlock the front doors from a button in there. Then they have to move all the way up to the top floor of the mansion, into the presidential bedroom and go into the president's underpants drawer. Once they do that, all of the llamas die, and the bodyguards and the hunted get 20 points.

The point system for the llamas is this: 45 points everytime they kill the prez

Wow that's a shitload of writing...

Play a HL mod called " ARG! " and try to do same drunken thing as they hacve there. It soo Cool.
BTW, KRG try to do "long spawns like it is at the first resapwn at Avanti so it not so easy to resapwn camp!

Good Luck!

Sure, The only thing I want on the map is a billboard like the one in 'Dusk'.

Excellent Rob. Don't worry the map will be all about TheVille.

Ok Greebo, right now I need to know a couple things.

Ok the modeling program we are going to make these models on is called "Lightwave". Heard of it? It's way more advanced than the TFC stuff and that poses a problem. We can convert models to just about anything. However we can not figure out how to convert our models from a Lightwave file to a Half-Life file that it will accept. We have some really cool mg models made but we can't convert them. Can you help with this?

Also what are the polygon restrictions for models in Half-Life? Once we get all this figured out, the rest is relatively understood.

Does anyone know a good site that has WorldCraft Tutorials? I only know the real basic stuff and would like to learn more about map-making.

Don't forget to have a Tim hortons on one side of the map, and a krispy cream on the other!

Me to Frag! What do you think we should do? So far, here are my rough draft ideas;

It's a "Defend The City" type map. With attacking and defending schemes much like Avanti but more open like Osaka with a dash of Shortbus for fun! I have already begun picking out the models for "TheVille Store" building, the "Church of TPF" buidling(preach it!), and a special little something I'll keep between us map building phreaks! Anyone who has knowledge in worldcraft is invited to throw in anything you think would benefit the map.

Let's make this a community thing.

We will of course post pics as soon as they are available.
