To truly play TPF you must always think about your team first. This means you should always be thinking, "is this helping or hurting my team?" Here are a few tips to help you help your team!

1. Engineers, when you build an mg don't spend the next ten minutes saying, "Upgrade my MG". Try telling people where it is! "MG at cap" or "MG by command 3". Otherwise, your team has to stop and type, "where is your MG"? Then you have to stop again and type, "it's over here by the whatever". And the whole process has taken twice as long as it should.

2. If you see an enemy medic, don't run from it! Stand and fight! If you kill the medic, you save your team from being infected. If you run away to save your measly hide, you are not helping your team at all. On the same note, if you get infected, go attack! I can't stand to see and infected sniper standing in the middle of a hallway trying to snipe while infecting his/her whole team.

3. Do not stop on ladders or in hallways. This screws up so many charges. You stop on a ladder or in a hallway and begin shooting at someone while your whole team bunches up behind you. How can we help you if your fat HW butt is blocking the hallway? If you must stand in a hallway, duck so others can jump over you!

4. If you drop the enemy flag, let your team know where it was dropped! I know many of you can't stand the thought of your team mate capping that flag you worked so hard to get but be realistic. You could not have gotten the flag without the help of your team. By letting your team know where you dropped the flag, you run a better chance of capping the freaking thing.

5. If your engy is building or repairing an sg, don't take the packs in the immediate area. Unless of course you are dying! Your engineer needs them more than you do. Do not throw packs right by your engy! Throw them away from the sg. Otherwise, one emp and it's all gone.

6. Do not run backwards if you can help it. There is only one reason you should ever really have to run backwards towards your base and that is to grab grenades. If you run backwards, two of your team mates will follow you trying to get a spy check on you. Thus you have diverted your team's attention for no reason at all.

7. If you are a HW, do not hide from snipers! Just go! The odds of them killing you in one shot are slim to none. I can't stand seeing a fatty cowering in a hallway because he/she is afraid of the sniper while medics and scouts cruise by! Step out and fire! You may not do much but at least you divert the sniper's attention from the rest of your team.

8. You are going to die. You are going to die many times. Suicide runs are some of the most effective offensive tools you can use! For every sg you die to kill, four of your team mates run on through untouched.

9. If you pee in a corner let one of us know! I can't stand going to get a pack and find myself standing where some camping sniper relieved themself!

10. Have fun.

Here's another tip:
Bind every message that you say to your team. It's a lot faster than typing it out. I bound messages such as "upgrade my SG/MG at %l", and "I need a Medic at %l!" I guess you could say "Medic Reporting at %l" so your team will know where a medic is. %l tells you your location on certain maps (sadly not Avanti).
Nice job summing everything up about teamplay, KRG!

I know I did not sum everything up in this thread. I barley grazed the surface of team play. I just like to help the newcomers become TPF before they become Llamas! If we can get to them first, we have a chance! Most Llamas play that way because they are unable to effectively play as a team. Hopefully the more knowledge we all share, the more team players we will have.

Good points... but the only problem is that the llamas aren't reading message boards... maybe if you made that list into your logo and spray it EVERYWHERE....

hehehe

Excellent point Bada. I knew I forgot something! Llama's read these forums too. They might not post but I know they read them from time to time. This was just ifo for anyone really. When I learn something, I share it. That's really all it is.

One thing I would like to say to you lovely engies... you guys are great, but, do not yell at me if I upgrade your mg to a 'nade launcher. Generally I will try to avoid it if I know that the team prefers a specific upgrade, but after about the 3rd time I hear you begging for an upgrade, I figure a 'nade launcher is better than no upgrade at all.

I cannot tell you how many times I have seen a lonely transparent mg just waiting to be touched as the enemy zips on by. Sorry, but in that case 'nade launcher it is!

You have hit on one of MY pet peves there. ENGIES ... you ungratefull sluts you....(SNL)

LOL, I can't get my MG upgraded to a squirt gun some games and I blame engies that yeall obsenities at teammates that upgrade their MGs to something other than a tesla. If you really don't like what you got, destroy it and try again WHEN there is the proper class around. But ME, I'll take any upgrade and Thank You Very Much. I stopped playing NEO lately because I've found myself nailing NME to the ground and doing the detspecial because NO ONE will upgrade it. When I finnally got so frustrated that I built my MG on a teammate just to get it upgraded, I knew it was time to take a break from the NEO servers. People give preference to spies and scouts or snipers and soldiers if it is out in the open but even a nade launcher detects spies right now and if that is the only uprade I can get I build where the nades do most damage. Sorry, I warned you it was a pet peve

OH KRG, I agree with everything you said except number 2. I feel strongly that ALL should fear the medic and run from his awsome power before he brings his wrath upon you. But if you do get infected run for the respawn area or camp on the nearest pack, or just stand in a doorway until it passes

(Warning: the paragraph above contains sarcasm and some possibly misleading information. If you have read other spy spotting threads and know what class I play lately you will be able to read the above paragraph without any misinformation getting into your brain)

What I have noticed lately is the depletion of engy's. It just doesn't pay to engy these days! Not only that but now a new medic wave is in full swing! So the sg's aren't there to kill these masters of malpractice! Doh! I get sick almost everytime I spawn! gj to all you medics out there! You have highly annoyed many people!

KRG, what they need is David Lopan and the three storms on defense. Try getting past that!

You know, maybe if The Ville gave out an award for the most mg upgrades, you'd have upgrades coming out your @$$. Not that anyone really needs to see things coming out your @$$ (I slay me!), but you get the point.

I personally upgrade them on purpose for the thrill of ticking off the picky lil' engies. jk

Im with Hoax on this one. But what I HATE is when the damn lil' engi runs up behind me and does a buildspecial on my a$$. It upgrades the mg, but my happy a$$ is stuck to it. Then while I am trying to shoot it with the shorty, im yelling for that guy to detonate it because Im stuck. And so on.... you get the idea.
