*sigh*...This is so true....
I used to love Superman....!

Many of us old ones also remember the text based games:

Code:
You are standing at the bottom of a long tunnel.  There is a knife on the floor.  A door exits to the W and the tunnel continues E.  You will probably die in the next 30 seconds and you'll have to rewind your cassette to the beginning to reload the game, waiting 10 minutes in the process.
What do you do now?>

Partly...
The bit about the cassette isn't in the game....

You brought a tear to my eye, sir...feeling a little nostalgic *sniff*
(Great find Nanners!)

Looking through all the platforms and games I've played since 1980, I've wasted a heck of a lot of my life.....

Sorry Mal, let me rephrase that. I think the Wii will sell good, and will be cool for a little while. Mostly because Nintendo are marketing geniuses. The demographic they're targeting is untapped. But, I don't see it becoming a part of the hardcore gaming communities. And THAT is why it will fade away like a sunset. LOL, do you think they'll have Wii Tennis Clans?

Here's another one for you Dog.

I guess we're showing our age. I used to play that at the machine in the Bowling Alley Arcade every Friday night while my parents bowled.

Love it!!

We used to call that one Galaxians...! They had one of those at our leisure centre...we'd swim then spend the rest of our hard earned cash on that bloody game! That and Space Invaders and Asteroids and Pacman.

One game I loved was Defender.....I spent a fortune on that one...

And Missile Command with the big tracker ball!!!!!!!!! loved that too...!

Coin ops, I had a few favorites. Galaga, 1942, Ye Ar Kungfu, Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Street Fighter 1 (then 2), Mrs Pacman, Tron, Asteroids, Zaxon, 720, Double Dragon, Gauntlet, Space Ace, Missle Command, Q-Bert, and there was one where you were a robot and you had two joysticks. One stick was for movement and the other was fire weapon. Oh and Dig Dug and Burgertime. I never really liked Mortal Kombat, I could never get used to having to press a button to block. Anyway, those are the games off the top of my head. I used to spend saturdays doing odd jobs for my parents and neighbors, then spend it all on Sunday at the"Fun Factory" arcade. Those are some great memories

...OBTW Nanite, you have THE BEST sig eva! I laugh every time I see it. Nicely done my friend!

I have an even better idea.

I will spend 0 dollars for my desktop computer that completely demolishes the xbox360, the Wii, and the PS3 in every way imaginable (graphics, load times, game quality, controls, everything), and then I will have a huge lan party with all of my friends and their desktops, and we will have 90000 million orders of magnitude more fun than 8 people could have with a Wii, or an XBox360, or a PS3.

PC's > all
