Just an additional note. These are the just the large BSP files and a couple of RES files. When you join the server on a custom map, it may upload additional files to your machine such as TGA, WAV or other map files.
But it won't take as long to join a new map!
Unzip them to your
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ACCOUNTNAME\day of defeat\dod\maps
folder!
