I use to do that with my old 78' Ford Fairmont in the Shenadoah Mts of Virginia after smoking and drinking too much
Somehow that car would survive

Every car in Britain has to get a Ministry of Transport (MoT) test after it's four years old. Tests for bad bodywork, brakes, lights, emissions.
They have test centres everywhere where you have to take the car. If you fail, they normally tell you to go and get it fixed and bring it back to be retested. BTW, the test centres guys in my expereince are little b^%*ards.
When you pass, you can then take it to the road tax place where you present the MoT certificate (and car insurance certificate) and pay the fee.
No MoT...you don't get a road tax disc to display on the car. No tax disk... the police will pick you up!
So failed cars are dumped.

Man that sucks worse than our safety inspections. They check for good tires, lights, and horn and brakes. Here in oklahoma they got rid of the test so we don't even have that now. Were livin the good life now in our junkers. Do the cars ever reach an age where they don't have to be checked any more under MOT? After 20 years our cars are considered classics and are exempt from emmissions testing _________________ <eVa>Bleeding Tomato-III$

Was a surprise when I arrived here in BC, Canada and all they checked was emissions...you can have any beater here, as long as it doesn't pollute the air!
Back in UK (well Northern Ireland anyway...they're less strict in England), it's hard to own any kind of a beater... _________________

no our cars no matter how old have to have an mot but after so long they do become exempt from road tax, which as just gone up again my cars just cost 175 pound to tax for 1 year. but next year i belive 4x4's and fuel guzzlers are to go up by 8 times which is going to be around the £1000 a year mark, ill let you guys do the currancy conversion. and add that to the price of our fuel you guys are living the good times. fuel at the moment where i live is at 96.9 pence per liter and theres 4.54609188 liter in a gallon so again do the maths. _________________ Wouldn't You Like To Be A Vicious Orange Carrot Too?
