Hey guys,

some of you might remember me talking about my new LCD screen in the game the other day. I got a new MAG Innovision 19" LCD a week ago and noticed right out of the box that it had some dead pixels in the lower left hand corner... They didnt really bother me all that much (But I was thinking "I paid $265. This thing should be perfect working order. WTF?) Then, when I went to enjoy DOD 1.3... I noticed that I had some "backlight leakage" on the bottom. I know on LCDs that a little glow around the rim of the screen is kind of normal... but this was leaking almost up to the tip of my gun (1280x1024 res).

After conversing with a few in game peeps, I decided it was best if I return it.

So, today I take it in and, of course, the dumbass "Geek Squad" did not see anything I was talking about. I would go into how much I hate the so called "Geek Squad" because of past issues, but thats a whole nother thread... I even tried my best to not even have to talk to them so I went to the Cust.Serv. immediately... but she just had to take it to them to inspect.

anyway, after they said they didnt see what I saw... the Cust.Serv. lady kindly said "We'll exchange it anway for you." I was like "Hell yeah, lady. You rule!"

So i go over to pick out the same exact model I got previously... but the last one they had of mine was in this box that looked like it was all beat to shit and ripped up. I was like "What-the-F-ever... I'll take it. I just want to get the F outta here." So I go make the exchange. I mention to the lady that I am uncomfortable with the packaging as that it insinuates that the box has previously been opened, been a display unit, returned. She says thats fine and if anything is wrong I can bring it back up and exchange yet again.

Well... I just got home and I plug it in, let it rest from being moved around for a good 30mins then power it on up.

Everything is looking good... EXCEPT FOR ONE F'N @$$ DEAD PIXEL THAT IS CONSTANTLY GLOWING NEON GREEN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SCREEN!!! WTF IS THIS? I do graphics and audio/video... I cant have this $H!7

So my question is... Take it back again and get a new brand, take it back and try again for the same model, or take it up the tail pipe?

Thanks for your time,
Willie

I'd say go for a new brand if you got the same problem twice. I have a ViewSonic and it works perfectly with no dead pixels or glowing anywhere.

I would take it back for another brand too.

It would be different if you got a dead pixel a few months in or something. There are ways to sometimes fix them. But in this case.. I would get something different.

Both my computers have Dell LCD displays - one is a 15" and the other is a 19". Both run pefectly fine (so far) and no dead pixels. The 19" is particularly beautiful!!

Getting a dead pixel or having something wrong with a new monitor is supposed to happen RARELY... Getting two screwed up monitors has to tell you to get a new brand..

Never trust dumb stores like Best Buy and Circuit City. All they ever do is rip you off anyway..

Well... this is weird.

Those pics above show the green dot and how noticable it was.

I was going to wait it out a day and see (mainly because I hate dealing with people).

But... as of now, that pixel is functioning NORMALY. Pretty strange!

Thanks for the outpour of support If anything happens I fo sho get a new brand.

Get a Viewsonic from newegg, you won't regret it!

Here is mine, although the price has come down since I bought it.
