It's an artist's....thing. A comment on genetic modifications and suchlikes, his take being that we are not actually ready for genetically modified pets. The pets are silicon with circuitry to make them move.

Yeah, his stuff is pretty damn amazing. I'd really like to get my hands on one of those, though.
