WoW... An Online RPG Funeral Gets Ambushed

Apparently, some dude dies in real life who is a popular WoW player. The people in the game think it would be nice to have a memorial for the player so they log into his account, take the character to a lake, and set it up for everyone to come pay their respects.

A bunch of dudes decide this would be a great time to ambush everyone so they run over a hill, kill the dead guy's character, and then wipe out everyone who was there to show their respects. They filmed the whole thing and put it on the net.

The reason why this thing degenerated on the WoW forums is they started laughing at people doing this "funeral" thing, calling them idiots, "it's a videogame" etc. Then someone got to their private forum, and copy/pasted a thread where a member of this guild lost a mother and other guildmates were sharing his loss, and they laughed at them.

People are stupid. They should have done it in a Horde area, but I suppose it wouldn't have been the same as snowy Everlook.

In-game funeral looked nice, but I don't think anyone will ever forget the Michel Koiter (Twincruiser) memorial.
