2 something. Honestly though you can't just go by other peoples sensitivity because players have a different feel to all the weapons. I found that just all around 2.8 is better for control then that of the higher sensitivities for spray.

You should just go by whats comfortable to you. Some people prefer the lower sensitivity for better aim and better control. Other people set it higher for spray. You just have to play each weapon to the level you feel is the most appropriate.

Well, I play with what I feel is best for each weapon or situation. I was just curious as to what everyone else uses, or if anyone is as obsessed with perfect aim as me. I used to be fantastic no matter what sensitivity I had it at (provided it was around 10 or so) but in DoD the recoil is quite different than other games, not to mention DoD is slower. This means I can no longer play Railgun style like I do in Quake.

So I'm adapting. I find that 10 is best for almost anything for me, but a lower sens is a near must for the K98, and almost only the K98. You only get one shot before you gotta' bolt-action in another bullet, and you'll be dead by then. I would run right at someone, swing real fast into them, and click on them... and it'd miss. From like point blank, I'd miss with the K98. It is most frustrating.

And far away shots seemed impossible too. But with a lower sens, I was popping people from across vicenza like nothing. Slowly, I keep improving my aim.

I have mine set in the middle for windows with mouse accel off. In game I'm at 2.0. I also make sure that my mouse accel is off using the -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd commands in my DOD startup or you can use the CPL mouse fix.
I find low sensitivity helps a lot for rifle accuracy. I also think that low sens is very important for BAR and STG control. I know it may not seem like it at first but after adjusting to the slower speed, you'll find a lot more pinpoint and recoil control for the auto's. This is what I use but then again what do I know.

Ahh, so you get rid of all the acceleration so it's a flat speed for any fast/jerky movements. And, uhh, the CPL does that too? I don't follow that stuff so I wouldn't know. I just want to get my right hand movements down to an art.

I'm actually a Lefty, so my WASD skills are my most impressive (especially in faster pace games), but my right hand is not as great as it used to be. I used to play a lot of games, then I got into my studies which lead me away from Windows in whole, so the only thing I played from time-to-time was Quake, deteriorating my right hands coordination skills.

Oh well, I appreciate anyones tips! Just like mine: use the console command 'cl_xhair_style 1' to change the crosshair cvar to static. That way your crosshair will be pinpoint accurate as you run around, instead of slowly shrinking and annoying the hell out of you as you try to drop a bead on someones head.

YES, I am bored. Sorry.

ingame sensitivity is nothing to me at this point. I used to have it at 16.2 on my old mouse. With my new mouse i have it at 2000 dpi I set it down to 7. I have both dpi and sensitivity fast switch settings on my mouse and then i have my windows mouse setting to who knows what. I've got too many sensitivity options.

It's not a command, it's scripting/programming language.

And I didn't feel like saving myself trouble because it was supposed to be a way for me to get the attention of Unix people. And it's a sig... it should be witty.

i used to have mine high. like 10 or so. but then i ran into the problem of not being able to stop my xhair on target. i would spin around to shoot someone and my xhair would be off. like 10 feet to the left or right.

so i went down to 5 and have no problem.

my question for the people with low sens is... how much do you move your arm around? i'm prolly gonna have horrible carpal tunnel by the time i'm 22 ( in about 2 months here) but i have it set up so all i have to do is move my fingers and wrist and i can do a 180+. i hanve't quite checked recently as to how far it goes around. the only reason my actual arm moves is if i have to find a more comfortable spot on the mousepad since my desk is formatted kinda funny.

http://users.theville.org/jjudeich/pics/comp%20002.jpg

( posting this has made me wonder if i use a mouse weird or not now.. )

so i've upgraded a few things around it , unfortunately not the mousepad itself though... man thats crusty. but you can see how my mouse is after some minor modifications to my desk. but basically my wrist sits on the same spot on the desk and i move mostly with my fingers pushing and my wrist going left or right ya know...

Rp, you might catch more than just carpal tunnel if you keep using those wrist pads! heheh

I turned off mouse acceleration and I think I'm shooting more accurately. No more 4:1 death/kill ration anymore! now it's more like 2:1....

myself I'm like you, with a sens of 1.5 I only have to more my wrist and hand I don't actually have to move my arm, even for a 180, however if it's anything more than that then I have to lift the mouse and bring it back to continue the turn. That is unless I have room to strafe turn which can be a lot safer.

I've tried to up my sens but with it any higher it feels like I can't control my aim and when I move my crosshair it jumps all over and is harder to aim with than when it's lower.
