But do this while your machine is running. When the water is finshed healing the machine it will know when, and how, to turn off. _________________

Ok its gotten worse now. I uninstalled and reinstalled steam, including dod.
Now dod loads, but no selections appear. I just get the DoD background, and the music. No options, servers, or quit selections appear. if i hit tild(~ that key) no console appears. I hit escape and nothing happens.
the only way i can get it to close is by ctrl alt deleting it.
it makes me angry. |

For some reason I thought it was working now for you when you removed the blob file.
Is this 1.3 or Source?
Since you have already done a reinstall once, I would maybe do it again... making sure everything to do with valve and steam is gone. Did you try the Source free weekend? I wounder if that had something to do with it. _________________

If you got steam goin, go to my games then right click dod and delete local content. Then close and restart Steam, go to my games and click on Day of defeat, it should redownload the lastest version. I think you have to uninstall/install from steam to do it right. _________________ =(M)-(M)= Mal n the m00bs - TVC 06 finalists

Well to answer your questions
1. Yes i tried free Source weekend
2. Problem is with dod 1.3
3. Unistalled steam through control panel
4. When i was getting no opening screen, i did the delete local content thing, then reinstalled it.
I got the opening screen to come back up, with the options and everything, but then after that, i still get dropped from any server i join with the same error message.
and now that you mention it, it started right after i tried the free source weekend.
I am going to try to log on to my girlfriends steam account and see if that makes a difference. |

Triple post!!!!!
But i cant help it.
So today after reinstalling everything for the 53rd time i started clicking on random servers in the list. The first one gave me the same error as theville 4 and 3.
Then something miraculous happened. I clicked on another server and it let me in no problem.
so i started scrolling through the list and joining, and about half the servers gave me that dropped message but the other half let me in clean and clear.
Now im even more perplexed. _________________
