I've been having a problem with my windows media player ever since I closed the window when it was halfway through a song. The player will no longer come up, the window anyways. It will show on the toolbar that its on, but the actual window doesn't pop open so I can use it. I can go to my music directory and open a song through there and I will have sound but still no window. I've tried downloading it again and reinstalling it but its the same thing. When Its running I can click on the tab in the toolbar and try to maximize or restore it, but nothing happens....I don't know what is going on with it. Any help would be appreciatied.

If you hadn't restarted your PC already, try opening up your Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and click on the Processes Tab and find "wmplayer" and click on the "End Process" button to kill that process. Opening the media player should now display the window. |

This started yesterday so I have already restarted my computer a couple times since it happened. I have tried turning it on and ending the process and the process tree, neither have worked. If I was to delete the program first and then go d/l it again, would that work? |

Well I've tried everything now, I erased the player and sent it to the recycle bin. Then downloaded it again and reinstalled it and it still wont work. |

Did you just delete it or did you uninstall it? Try what Rough said about uninstalling the entire application then reinstalling it. |
