I agree with the accuracy thing. The tommy gun and mp40 bullets do go everywhere but straight. Many times have I just sat there and shot and watched the bullets go around the crosshair.

And about paying $20 for DoD, you're giving them 20 more dollars for hours put into mapping and coding and modeling. Small price to pay really. It's a really great game if you give it time and be a little lenient. The graphics and sounds are enough to make me play it.

I love long distance sniping with the mp40 and thompson. Accurate enough for me

And using your logic we should be paying for all mods developed then. As I stated, it's just a graphics upgrade. You can play basically the same game for free. Why pay $20 for source? All they did was just split the community.

"Harder" should be judged by the skill of the players, not how horrible the guns are. You put your crosshair on a guy from ten feet away, you should generally hit more than air.

a skilled player can play good with or w/o accurate guns... it is harder cuse it takes even more skill to be good with innacurate guns. and its not just the graphics... defending flags, bonus time after all flags ar caped, and they made harder to kill with shovel/knife, those are good new details

Time I have. I'm by no means lenient, though.

Also, if you cannot hit anything you aim at with a gun, you cannot kill. If you cannot kill, skill is a hard thing to attain. Plus, my goddamn Garand got nerfed. Source will be fine once they fix all of these things, until then, it's just never going to beat 1.3 in terms of popularity.

You also cant go on a realism factor. Pretty graphics =/= realism. The weapons aren't realistic, nor are many other things. Not to say that 1.3 is realistic, either, but I'd certainly one-up it from Source.

all guns are the same pretty much...it's how u use them that counts. The k98 is awesome when ur crouched down or standing still but it sucks when you are running around. The BAR is awesome but the reload time is horrendous. In the end what matters is how good the player is. A good player can use any gun and get kills

hmmm...i have played source for about 15 minutes....i had a super hard time and we all know that i am the best player around ;)...haha i think that source is not as realistic as you claim....it is actually made to be not realsitic to make the game fair....the guns were made to be inaccurate to make it fair for everyone...the garand was known by the germans becasue it could shot so fast...they thought it was an automatic gun...it was also known to be powerful and accurate, same with k98, spose to be accurate, and if you shot a real gun, even if you are strafing the gun still shots straight if it is pointed straight...paintball for idk how many years.
