I live in Gillette now - riding the energy boom! But I lived in Jackson for a few years too - Cody is great place too!

You always need a shovel in Wyoming!

The German shovels were folding spades of some sort. I don't know if they have specific names

The Germans used a few different types of shovels.
Last year cheaper than dirt had 300 German shovels and sold them off quick.

This is might be the best deal

I know I can get one at any surplus store - what I meant is I want and actual german shovel from WWII - not a replica, reproduction etc. I think the last link Squirrel gave me is what I want - just not a reproduction. So, i guess i am wondering were i can find authentic kraut gear fro WWII.

I think this is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.therupturedduck.com/WebPages/Fieldgear/f225.htm

I cant wait - I am going to carry this everywhere, any time I get lip at work or get called the network nazi or IT nazi I'm going to pull my shovel out and smack someone up side the head! Then when they are all bleeding and crying "why??" I am going to laugh and say didn't you hear my footsteps noob? How could you let me get that close to shovel you? Then yell "Owned" in there face. I might do a cermonial "tea bagging" to finish off the shoveling humiliation. As i walk off i'll say thats what you get for camping in your cubicle all day - assclown.

Then I'll go home and lay the shovel down in the bed I'm making for it.

Thanks for all the help guys!
