Ok, well first off, i need to apologize for the server being down so long. Ill give you the rundown of what happened. So I get a call from powder saying the site is down....ok, so i check it out and mysql isnt starting. i go to restart it, it comes up for a bit, then goes down. start again, and no luck. so i call the datacenter where the server is at, they say i need to fsck the disk (run a check on the files, basically). they take server offline, run it, says there is no problem. i reply saying that mysql is still having problems. they want to take the disk our for actual diagnostics. well by the time they actually get around to doing it, its been 3 days. finally get the hard drive back in and let me know there was no problem. i respond with how come im getting this SMART error (error from the hard drive saying its dying). they say ooh, oops....we guess it really is bad. so i back up all the data, and tell them to replace the drive. a day and a half later its finally replaced. i restore all the data and have problems: dns, mail, mysql, apache, basically everything that could go wrong. so i fix all the problems i could and in the end guess what...... still having a mysql problem. i get all pissy with them, they get it back up and running, and, of course, still have problems - all the usernames and passwords werent restored. so after a day of working to get them back....its finally up. so if you see any problems around the place, let me or powder know.
