1. Grab a calculator (You won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2
Do you recognize the answer? _________________

The little arithmetic algorithm essentially takes the first 3 digit number you enter, multiplies it by 10000 and then adds the second 4 digit number to it. So, if your 3 digit prefix is 555 you get 5550000 and then add your 4 digit suffix 1212...
... 5551212
(The unfortunate side effects of being a college mathematics instructor is that I cannot leave stuff like this well enough alone...) _________________
