It depends on your definition of sport. It seems to take a lot of work practicing their moves and stuff...

I think they do have competitions, though. I guess in that case it would be qualified as a sport. Think

Why are you guys all pretending like you've never watched cheerleading national competitions on TV? Just admit it guys!!!! And at one point in our lives we were all chronic master debaters.

Hell, if they consider cup stacking a sport, or Texas Holdem a sport then what the heck lets go with cheerleading too....

I personally dont believe its a sport unless theres physical contact/abuse Gimme a good hockey or football game any day

If you go by the definition of sport then it is

1 a -Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
b - A particular form of this activity.
2 An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
3 An active pastime; recreation.

It is a Physical activity and they do have rules/customs, and like has already been stated, what guy here has not watched the cheerleading competitions on TV. And it does take skill, since you have to learn the moves and how to be in sync with the rest of your team. So yes it is a sport, but then again alot of things are sports that most people do not realize are

It is also fun jsut to piss the cheerleaders off lol becuz most of them are nieve and big clutsess and u can make fun of them and they try to come back with sumthin and its terrible lol

cheerleading is just like synchronized swimming and dancing. those arent sports sure they take practice but i mean hell i know they will add it to the sports....just like how I consider nascar not a sport.

but hell thats my opinion and i know others will disagree but whatever

had to write an article in highschool for the newspaper stating that it was a sport. a 800 word article. gah did I have a hard time with that. I bs'ed it very well though, and I got a lot of compliments from the cheerleaders on it.... not that that really matters... Imho - no, technically, it can be argued yes though.

I don't know if I'd consider it a sport, maybe the competitions you see on TV. I just like watching it
