Is it possible to set up some kind of electrical beam, or what-ever, at set points that will automatically kill spawn invaders. Would it not be easier than banning by simply making the spawn areas a no go zone.
What do the rest of you think.

They coldnt do that and if they could they woulndt beause you spanw all over the map and besides they already have sents in the primary spawn

Tks Bubba. I know about the sents but after you capture cap 1 the spawn area also moves, so why can't the barrier move as well?

I dont have a whole lot of mapping experience, but I'm sure that could be done. I dont think it would be effective though, itwould stop the medics infecting in the spawn, but you could just thow nades past the lasers. |

They HAVE to make a way to do it i was playing avanti a few days ago and these stupid medics and pyros were camping by our respawn and killing us when we spawned it sucked

Firstly you can't change avanti to that degree without it becoming a new map that everyone needs to download.
Secondly it probably is possible to work....however it's so much work that no-one would bother trying.

Besides - you would need the orginal .rmf file to work with the map in worldcraft - and only Valve has that. (the map can be decompiled - but you loose some physical features and entites when you do that.)

I complain about flag holders, teammates who keep shooting thier own teams mgs out, and door blockers in 2fort...If you have a respawn camper go engie, your team only needs 1...if playing neo build mg because you can drop it on the run...then build sg on up the map from it...if you get infected who cares you have to pick up bags to upgrade you sg so you can stay alive to build level 3 sg...keep walking the mg and sg forward and respawn camping is over and you can help team...if playing non neo just use an sg and watch for spies...anybody that complains about respawn campers on NEO is pathetic because its to east to stop without hurting your team from attacking...on non neo I will give the benefit of the doubt because you do have one guy tied up looking for spies... |

I am referring to Avanti 1 & 5. I did not realize that the Valve had to make map changes. I think that it would be a good idea if they do look at the concept in the future. Tks for the replies.

There is a good way to solve this at all the spawn points in neo servers. Set down a sg that can cover the entrances to your spawn, and is next to something at least half as tall as the sg. Then, using the taller part, jump on top of the sg and set your mg there. The sg will get most classes, and the sg can get spies.

My suggestion on Avanti is to play the way we want the map to be played here. If you have problems with respawn infectors or campers tell them that is not how we play at the ville. If they dont stop then make note of their WON id's and post them in the complaint forums. We will ensure they dont come back.
You can also look on the other servers for one of the admins (There are 15 of us, check the MOTD for the current list) we will gladly come to a server to deal with problem players. We dont like to ban a player if we dont have to, but we will if they will not play by the rules.
