DoD:S issue while joining ville servers

I didn't want to post this in the DoD forum because it only happens when I try to join the Ville I

The game starts normally and I select the server

I get this message that it's downloading materials/admin_menui (and it cuts off there) (I don't know the exact dir. structure at the moment as I'm not on that comp.)

Then it goes on to where it says "sending client info" and it crashes to the desktop shortly thereafter.

Not sure if anyone else has ran into this or what the deal is.

While I'm on the subject of weird errors...anyone else had a problem where once they quit DoD:S they have to exit and restart steam in order to load it up again or get the "game not available" error?

ya, i got a hl2.exe crash a few time joining, i haven't joiun any other servers so i donno if its the server.

My computer is doing both things you listed except my comp doesn't crash to desktop. It does take about a solid minute to join the server once it starts loading the admin plugin file or whatever it is.

Steam released another update late last night supposedly to fix some things.

Just to update the issues....

I did not have the issue with the admin module thing downloading.

I did experience the crash to desktop once, and only once, which required me to exit steam and restart it...afterwhich it worked fine.

I paid a bit more attention to when it was happening and the crash is occuring during the switch from the joining the server screen (with the little box and progress meter) to the actual game (if you pay attention to it there's space for about 3 more bars when it switches to actual play)...that's when my crash is occurring.

It just crashes back to the desktop with a memory cannot be read error.

Anyway...that's the latest.....

I also joined several servers last night to try it out and the only time it has occurred is while joining The Ville I (even though that was only the 1 time yesterday) So I'm not sure if it's a client side deal or something on my end.

I did not ever get the DoD update from yesterday so I'll try it out today and report back in.

I just wanted to let you guys know it was happening..it's no big hassle for me to exit and restart steam until it works.

You guys are doing a wonderful job...the server seems to be running very smoothly.

well i think this problem is jsut like the server verification problems we were haven earlier where u couldnt connect to the ville server but i dont kno y it crashes to desktop but i sent valve an email about it saying wats happening i will jsut see now if they respond or they will jsut fix it in the next update!!

I only have problems connecting to theville I, but its kind of rare now.

All the other mani plug in servers i have played work fine.
