Wow that has to be the worst control controller ever! I thought that the huge X-Box controllers sucked, until i seen how goofy a Gamecube controller was. And now this thing!? In my opinion, I think they should have stuck to the Super Nintendo controller if any. I also wondered how a controller that looks like it only has 2 different gameplay buttons could be used? I would guess that the A and a do the same function as well as the B and b, but who knows. With consoles today, most games require a numerous amount of buttons for different functions. Although it sounds like a good idea having the "expansion port" on the bottom of the controller for other add-ons, but to me this sounds like "we want more money".

the reason i would think of getting this is because i never really used my xbox much because most games were bad or fps' that i could play on the pc. the new xbox looks like it has more of a variety of games that look like i would like. But i would like the revolution because it has unique controlls and games that you can't play on the pc, so i figure i would get more use out of it. _________________ R.I.P. Blue |

The controller actually seems like a great idea. You can use it as a bat for a baseball game, a sword for an rpg game, or a lightsaber, a steering wheel, etc.... I wouldn't knock it until you try it for awhile. It might be weird at first, but if you get used to it, it could be extremely fun. _________________ "Live forever through fire." |

Think of playing an Samurai game that actually reads which direction you slash. It also looks like the NES controller if you turn it sideways, which is how I'm sure one can play the older games easier.
Besides, I'm sure they'll come out with a regular looking controller as well. Just look at how fast the XBox S controllers came out after people complained about the size of the original ones. _________________ http://www.chronixradio.com |

Can just hear the kids in the future: But Daddy/Mommy, we were just having a sword fight in game, I didn't think it would hurt my little bro/sis if I hit them with it, it is just a game! lol _________________

IGN wrote: | Q: What does the conventional controller cradle/shell do?
A: This add-on makes it possible to play Revolution games in a more traditional manner. The shell is designed to look and function like accepted "regular" controllers, such as the Wave Bird. After its bottom casing is removed, the Revolution's free-hand-style remote is inserted into a gap in the middle of the controller shell. Gamers can then use the shell as they would a traditional controller, with a notable difference: the pointer remote's sensory functionality remains active. As a result, gamers get the best of both worlds: more buttons and two analog sticks along with motion-sensing operations. In a Revolution version of Madden Football, gamers might be able to use the combo to control players with the shell's analog sticks and execute pinpoint passes with the pointer's improved accuracy.
Nintendo has not yet released official imagery of what the controller shell might look like. However, we've created a mock-up (above) based on what we know of its functionality. The real controller shell is likely to connect to the free-hand-style pointer in a very similar fashion. Please note that we realize our model is not entirely to scale, but this is the best we could do on short notice. |
looks like theres gonna be a normal controller addon. _________________ R.I.P. Blue |
