| sometimes my computer doesnt let me connect to the Ville 1 server but it will let me connect to the Ville 4 all the time? do u kno why this is? |

I got it after the recent patch. If i try to connect 2 or 3 times it will usually let me.

are you connecting in console or just through the server's list? I haven't had any problems, but I always do the "connect tv1.theville.org" in console...

Yeppers, I connect to everything by typing it into the console. It's more inconvient than a problem.

I remember the days where I would connect directly through the ville website, then steam came along....

You can usually get in if you retry a few times...
I looked all through the setting for my 9800 Pro drivers and didn't see a v-sync setting.

Well if you have the ATI icon on your start bar right click it and look under Direct3D should be under there  .

| I also have been getting this problem. I would try to connect but get the msg, then retry and get the same msg, maybe third times a charm? I usually always get in the third try. And do any of you have the problem of steam updating DoD with the latest patch (1.3?) that was released july '04? Its nothing major since it takes all of 5 secs to download, but why does it keep doing it? |

get into the catalyst control center, go to "3D" and there go to "no preview"
there you will find the option to disable v-sync.

Delete the serverbrowser and clientregistry.blob in the Steam folder. Should work fine afterwards.
