I have been talking to a few players about some issues or trends in Tfc. There seems to me that there is a cleft between serious players and players who are dickin' around. For instance players who will use the remote rockets then kill themselves to use the remotes again. I say that it is bs and I think this behaviour should be discouraged, others say I should shut the f#$% up. Yes yes I know they are easy to defend or whatever, my point is not the actual event it is the mentality. I want to hear other likewise situations and suggestions on what to do. Maybe one Ville server could be for people who wants to dick around! Or maybe I should just shut the f@#$ up.

I think most players play to win, but don't treat as life and death. I play to win and do get pissy if our team stands around.

I play to cap. The other day trying to get my team to cap on well, I went like 5:20 but I capped.

With remote rockets some times I getted locked onto the rocket screen. When that happens I have to kill myself to get out of it. I am not killing myself to get more remotes. Did you ever hear about that.

It always freezes when the remote gets shot down by a snipers missle defense system.

I do agree with you on one point only. Typing kill just so you can get some more remotes is kinda gay, but like someone else pointed out they are a new mod and ppl will screw around with them or they get shot down by sniper anti's and you have no option but to kill yourself. Why not go over and kill the person doing it rather than complain. I'd like to think most ppl come here to have fun, even if it is a style of gameplay you may not agree with. I really dont fit in either of your two catagories. I'm really not a serious player, yes I like to kill more than I die but if someone is owning me you know I usually just LOL and play on. And no I dont dick around either so that doesnt work either. Its a game remember.

I was unaware of the glitch with beeing locked in the missile view. I am not really complaning about the remotes. I am more interested in attitudes. How the game should be played. And agreed it is just a game. (an arcade game at that.)

well, i am competitive and i enjoy being challenged. i dont like losing and getting owned either and i usually step up my game with the competition around me, but sometimes i screw around and spam like a llama. anyhow i like seeing my name at the top of the scores at the end of the round, and when i play bad i get mad because its a competition against myself as well. so i edge towards taking the game seriously, but i don't throw a hissy fit if my team sucks, actually i enjoy cuz its more of a challenge.

I try to play as best as I can, but usually get owned trying to help n00bs. every once in a while I'll forget about helping people and play to have a good time and get lots of kills and stuff. But most of the time, I just try to help my team out. And, it's just a game.

I agree that's it's just a game and if people wanna kill themself to get more remotes let them do it, it's them who end up with -30 on the board at the end of the match

Snaggle, that's nothing bad. You've helped me a few times, if not just from watching all your goofy antics as a Medic. (circle strafing, infecting and then running off before my chaingun can mow you down. )

For me, I think it's a game. I play to win, but if i loose i rarly care. (Assuming i don't get -totally- whooped for the full 45 minutes of the game. That gets irritating mighty quick. Past that, though, i don't care if i live or lose, so long as i have some fun. At the same time, i try not to mess around and cause problems for my team/be useless when i can avoid it.

As for the subject on the remotes. Ok? Let them do it if they really want. Tasteless to me, but at the same time i can always run up and hand them a Mirv, and run. It's not like they'll see it. If they are the type with the ping of like, 20, and hide in Respawn and wait for someone to leave, and time it just right to get that remote out, and kill themselves over and over, and steer well so they basically automatically will get a 2:1 death ratio, -that- is a bit cheap in my eyes, simply cause for me to kill them, it would be Respawn camping, and even moreso, getting that mirv in there just right isn't exactly easy. But if they use two out in public, kill themselves, then return to public, then sure. It's part of the game.

Having one server with differant rules or standards would only serve to confuse people. The standards that are set and up held by the admins are exactly what makes the ville what it is today. If it weren't for the ville, I would have stopped playing TFC a LONG time ago.

The ville has attracted a large following of respectfull players in all age groups, a miraculous feat in itself. But we also have a small group of smack talking, disrespectful punks who stay just below the radar and manage to remain on the servers. And they have the nerve to question other players ethics?

You asked, so I shall answer.. shut up.

CyCoMoM (Please remember that I'm an individual and CyCoDaD cannot be responsible for my actions. He's a much nicer person that I am)

Have a nice day.

There is a place to do this, it's called any server but the Ville. This is one of the few safe havens for normal people in the HL mod community, no need to go messing it up for the sake of some llamas.

I don't know what you folks are talking about. This is life and death. This is dead serious. If my kill/death ratio is below 1 for the day I just can't sleep later that night! LOL Gotta love TFC.

Thank you cycomom that was weary helpfull! I havent been called a smack talking, disrespectfull punk in a while!

Here is a theory (not a real suggestion)
Imagening having the servers set up so that maybe one and two would be qulifiers. then three and four could be next step up. The only way to move up would be a certain amount of skill and the fact that you would not be a smack talking, disrespectfull punk. Therefore you would kind of have a hierarcical system where some servers are for teaching ethics (which I know nothing about), and skill. Then move up to a veteran level.

I don't know if it would work though. Guess it's kind of like Platos republic......

Hey, that sounds like a good idea, having a server for newbies and teaching them. It feels pretty cool when you help out a n00b build his/her first MG. I play for the team to win, but if a newbie needs help, I'd be glad to help.

Well, at least you know your downfalls, gotta respect that. Sounds like you should set up your own set of servers.
