Yesterday I was in Ville V as a sniper in Charlie on Allies team and kept getting camping warnings. Folks, that is not camping, it is what snipers do---the same can be said for machine gunners. The whole idea of complaining about "camping" has been pushed beyond any reasonal limits by some people. Some classes are assult classes and some are not. If you want everyone to constantly be in an assult mode then remove the classes that don't apply and I will play somewhere else if I don't want to play that way.

What do you mean by camping warnings? Are you sure you weren't spawn camping?

I got a message across the screen telling me I was camping and to move on. It occured again after I had moved once and said something about the last warning.

It is totally impossible to camp the Axis spawn locations from the beach on Charlie which is where I was at the time.

I'm not sure what that's all about, but you may want to post a complaint about it in the Complaint Department at http://www.theville.org/complaints/

Make sure to register there first if you haven't already.

Thanks. That was the first time I have seen that warning and I have been playing in various Ville servers for some time. I did move forward after the 2nd warning since there were few sniping targets and then the round ended soon after that so I did not find out what would happen if I ignored the warnings. I will do as you suggest and submit it as a complaint if it keeps occuring.

I seriously doubt an admin told you to stop camping, especially if you were on the beach.
Most of the admins are campers themselves.
It sounds like someone who was not an admin was messing with you or you were not on the ville.

The message was not a text message from some other player but appeared in white font directly in the middle of the screen. It was the first time I had seen such a message.

I was most certainly in Ville V at the time.

Hmmmm, I have seldom been AFK longer than it takes to run to the bathroom and back (a problem with aging you young guys don't have yet) so I have never seen the warning for that particular thing. For that matter, this is the first time I have seen it at all. I will try sniping again and see what happens. If it was a legitimate warning it has only recently been turned on.

It did not address anyone in particular but appeared on my screen without a sender or intended recipient shown. I was indeed prone as a sniper and had been for a few minutes and the 2nd warning came after I had moved to a new sniping spot.

That message could have been aimed at anybody on the server.
It sounds more like a spawn camping warning
I really don't think it was to you

Bingo. Some warnings appear on screens of all the team, like cussing, etc. It may be the explanation in this case. Some allies probably made it to the field and was camping the axis door.

BTW..... you know me as a player that don't do shit to annoy people deliberately., such as spawn camping.... but on this particular map, I must admit I don't feel guilty at all to do it. Getting out of that beach is frustrating, and axis have to pay IMO. Remember in Private Ryan when they started burning up the germans in their bunker? This map is a spawn camping fest on axis side, for historical reason. It should be the same for allies when they succeed to advancefor the same reasons

Perhaps, but it seems to me it should have been directed at someone in particular and I did not see anyone else commenting on it at the time.

Of course it may not happen again but we shall see.

It's automatic, kinda like the afk kick thing. I think I heard Frosty say something about it today. It's only on TV5 though.
