Take about 2 1/2 hours one night or weekend to watch Tae Guk Gi.

Awesome movie about South Korean soldiers during the Korean war.

*btw....those weapons look awfully familiar.

Like any Chinese/Japanese/Korean made movie its fairly dramatic but still has a lot of action.

i used to be a big fan of asian cinema, but i just lost the time to find good movies and watch them.

We saw that and liked it. We watch quite a few movies from the east. I like the endings...the hereo dies...the family dies. hell everyone dies! no one lives and there is never a happy ending

If you watch enough of the eastern movies you kind of get the plot to most:

Main character has internal turmoil over the death of/life of someone he loves/loved.

Main character has one friend that will see he/she die at the end of the movie.

Main character has an antagonist(s) equal or better.

Main character has many flashbacks to the good old/bad old times.

Main character confronts his antagonist(s) and kills/cripples and in doing so becomes crippled/dead in the process.

OR.... main character dies and the friend confronts the antogonist and kills him/her.

At any rate it makes for a great movie. Unlike the American movies made today that do injustice to old flicks, comic books or generally horribly made movies; i.e. The House of Wax, The Fantastic Four and maybe the remakes of Japanese films.

Just my 2 cents ......

i can't really say i watch a lot of those movies. i had a friend that used to watch them constantly though..

i'm mostly jsut amazed because its been so long since i've seen or thought about the maxx and for some reason as soon as i saw the avatar i rememberd. weird stuff

ive seen this movie sitting at hollywood video..but i'll rent it out now since you guys say its a good movie

You can watch it in english but for some reason bad accents to a foreign film are horrible....

I remember picking up the 2nd Maxx comic when it first came out..... I think I was a sophmore or junior..... maybe even a freshmen in high school. Its still one of my favorite comics to this day. I recently procured a dvd copy of the episodes aired on MTV. Very good stuff.

I'm getting to old for this stuff!
