Yep recently lost my uncle bill. During the war he had his front teeth knocked out by the butt of a German gun and got shrapnel in the ass. He refused his purple heart until 5 years ago. I think they are all special people. _________________

wow...what a site. I have had the opportunity to meet several WWII vets and I've asked them about their experiences...their truly something to hear first hand.
I also know that we did in that war isn't forgotton to the world.
I had opportunity in college to live in The Netherlands. During my stay there (6 months) I had several people come up to me and tell me to thank my grandparents when I got back. This was coming not only from folks old enough to remember but from people my age (21 at the time).
It really made me think about what that generation did for us...and for the world. |
