Well recently for some reason I am having trouble with my internet connection. I have a home wireless network in my house powered by a Linksys router which my pc is directly connected too. Well for whatever reason... sometimes when I go visit a site it will act like I have no internet connection....even though I may have just visited that site 5 mins ago. But, if I try later or maybe even again it will load fine. It seems like I loose my internet connection...even though everything checks out fine. Maybe it is just a temporary problem comcast is having in my are I dunno... Any suggestions?

lol, I live near Rebel, but rather than cable, I have Verizon DSL, my connection to my router is wireless, both on my laptop and on my desktop. I can use my laptop at the same spot as where my cpu sits, and have no problems with the connection. However, my desktop cuts in and out of connection, it seems like it loses signal randomly, but my laptop in the same spot, and further from the router, doesn't experience this problem. The loss of connection is short, a couple seconds, enough to log me off AIM and lag me horribly in game (doesn't kick me out of game at least?)

Jr. has the same issue he is directly hooked into the router. Mine and my fiance's are wireless. We will be on the same server and he lags out. I have tried 3 different net cards in his system and they all have the same result :S. I have a wireless card in his, but he has win98 so I have to go in and configure it to see the network. ( I'm to lazy to do it...lol). The way I look at it, it is a free shot to kill him

Could be the router itself. I mainly use the linksys products for home networks, and just his other week I was helping a friend with his. The machines connecting through it would browse the internet so slow, if at all. If you dropped to a DOS prompt then you could ping anything with great return times, but couldn't surf to that page.

I used a spare router and replaced the one he was using. The problem has seem to have gone away.

I am not even going to think of why the ping works well, but the http traffic was crap.

I don't have wireless at the moment, but if I recall, there's a windows XP "zero configuration utility" or some such that will kick off every minute lagging you out for a couple seconds. If you happen to try and load a website at the same time it's kicking off, that might explain it for ya.
