screen choppyness

Ok I'm running an AMD XP 3000+ at 2.2Ghz with 1.5Gb ram with an Nvidia 256mb 8x AGP video card. I'm still gettin a split second screen freeze while playing. What could be causing this. I'm also on my own DSL line so I'm not lagging at all.
Any thoughts?

Im sure you did but check all cables and cords.

Make sure Steam didn't reset your connection speed under settings.

Also, what is your FPS?

Did this just start happening out of nowhere? Or, did you change something, like a new driver or certain software that might be running in a process?

try a new video driver, if you are using 71.49??? , that one isnt good...

Im currently using the 71.89 version driver from the nvidia website, the connections speed in steam is dsl 768kbps, and my fps is usually between 60 and 70, and no I havent changed anything else yet

What video mode are you running in? OpenGL?
