|

OMG! I was listening to the radio yesterday here in southern California. There is some nut-job of a lady trying to pass a law to make it illegal to use a cell phone in public! She claims it's just like second hand smoke. THat the radiation is causing everyone brain tumors, but we dont know it yet because cell phone technology is still pretty new. She also claims that banning cell phones will save the youth of America. Because, all the "minorities" (here is San Diego, whites are minority - and she is white) are using the phones for drug deals. Man! I was so fired up about it. Besides needing to always be in contact with my daughters (3 & 9 yrs old), I use it for work, entertainment, and paying bills etc. I was curious to know what everyone else's view is on this. What do you think? Give me your oppinions. _________________ =(M)-(M)= Mal n the m00bs - TVC 06 finalists

I think that it is completely ridiculous. I feel that I have a better chance of getting hit by a School Bus with the number 666 before I die from obtaining a tumor which was created from my excessive use of a cell phone.
This is just another case of a woman who cannot destinguish between fact and merely someones opinion. She probably heard this somewhere as an 'opinion' and blew it out of proportion. (I.E. - Micheal Moore's "Bowling for Columbine, Farenheitt 911") Movies that were merely opinionated, and were taken by most people to be factual.
Welp, enough of my rambling, stupid people make me mad sometimes. lol _________________

I can see banning cell phones within the movie theater (not outside it) and i can see banning cell phones in your car unless you have an ear piece. But banning them in public in general is a silly idea. The whole point originally behind cell phones is for emergencies..living in californand movithough you just accept nut jobs like this and move on.

yeah thats pretty dumb. i do agree about making them illegal in theaters. Having a hands free device is probably a good idea for driving cars. although i personally have never really had to much problem driving and talking on the cell phone. i remember cpt keyes and i used to joke that i was able to talk on the cell, make a sharp turn while shifting and drinking a slurpy all at the same time. _________________

Do people really have nothing better to do with their time than make such rediculous lawsuits? _________________

things are different....
My mom used to leave us 3 kids in the car, and leave us the keys to crank the windows if it got too hot. now if you left a poodle in your car you would be arrested. i can understand why parents don't want to bring kids into the store, it is like witnessing beggars at christmas time. the cereal aisle is hell. "Please, the cocoa puffs, i will wash the car for 6 months if you get me cocoa puffs" "last time we got cocoa puffs, you didn't eat them and they went stale" by the time they are fully in the tantrum, on the floor, i just walk up to them and say, "Who are your parents?" and as I turn around I am mumbling about poor parenting skills.
We would get lawn darts! Big 10 pound darts that came in a pack of 8 with no instructions at all! You would throw them straight up in the air and watch them land... let me tell you something if you ever received one on the head you would be getting coloring books for christmas, for the rest of your life!
Heck chemistry kits... they were always fun...: "MOM! Jonny put amonium sulfate in my eye!" "Tell him to stop! Go play with the wood-burning kit or the mini-bikes and BB guns!"
parents now have to lock up dish washing detergent from their kids, but when i was a kid, mom used to buy me airplane glue to do my model planes. I would be up there putting together a little model plane, and i would be higher than the rolling stones on the opening night of their tour. things sure are different now.

I think that they should ban idiots from public. That way, half the world issues and problems wouldn't exist. |
