I would be getting wow, but I do not support pay to play. Blizzard has failed now in my opinion.

I will be playing when its released.

Those that are wondering we are talking about World Of Warcraft.

www.worldofwarcraft.com and www.blizzard.com/wow

Vulcan this is a MMORPG with thousands of players per server, not battle.net. These types of games are not like warcraft, diablo or starcraft. There is a reason why its pay to play..... and unless you play or played one of these types of games (like EQ) then you wouldn't understand.

The costs are huge to run these types of games. And.. you are paying for content. From the start these games have more content (and have to) then your normal PC game.

Here read their FAQ..

I was a big EQ player, been playing for almost 4 years now, haven't really announced my retired but i'm pretty much done with that. Then moved onto Lineage 2...that was a waste of money...horrible game IMO. I will be playing both WoW and EQ2 next and then choosing one to play(hopefully both aren't perfect b/c i could only afford one). A Ville guild would be fun, but i would have to wait and see if i have other friends that will be playing and what servrs they will end up on ect.

I played Dark Age of Camelot, i quit after Trails of Atlantis came out... ruined the game. Currently i play Eve-Online and PlanetSide.

Im thinking about wow, but i just hope it isnt like another D2 where you can lvl up to 60 in 1 day.. other wise the game will blow chucks of @#%@

oh yeah if any of you play Eve-online or Planetside contact me

Eve-online name = Fuglyman

Planetside = Server Markov, Empire Vanu, name StarPirateAJI

Just because it is a MMORPG doesn't mean it has to be pay to play. I've seen plenty of them which are free to play. I personally would pay a one time game price to play WoW, but not $15 a month. No game is worth paying over $30 - $40.

well... you have to look at what your getting with a game thats pay by month compared to games that are free to play online.

Pay by month: constintly fixing the game from bugs, updating it, lag free servers... sort of, no cheaters, always adding new things.

Free games: ok im going to use Diablo 2 as a example for this, massive lag, crap gameplay, cheaters, a patch to fix bugs like every 6 months or every year, Hardley anything new to the game, which makes it old.

every game that i have paid by month, i have been very satisfied by it. I think the 12-15 bucks is very worth it. Thats why i mostly play PBM online games now.

I dont think you have played a real MMORPG. One with Thousands of People playing and updates and expansions...

Ones like Ragnerok or something like that is nothing to get exited about...

I have played just about every MMORPG out, and there's one thing that only one game has gotten right "Shadowbane". The thing I hate most about any MMORPG is the need for the levelling treadmill. I HATE sitting waiting for the next spawn for hours on end, just so I can get a better [insert item here]. WoW has been no different. Particularly end-game levelling.

I'm in the WoW beta. I haven't had this much fun in a game of this type since EQ and before that Meridian 59. The leveling isnt so slow (like DAOC or EQ) but isnt so fast that it means nothing. The leveling speed reminds me of Shadowbane. But.. You can quest for levels or hunt for them. I usually just hunt to top off a level if im close. The trades are cool too. Im a fisherman!

My fiance and I have played many of them Meridian 59, Ultima Online, The Realm, EQ (still there), Dark Age of Camelot, Asherons Call 1 and 2, Shadowbane, Lineage 2, Planetside, AO, etc. I have also beta tested some more like Horizons. Never played that after retail though.

I like WoW so far. If you end up playing when released I'll let you know where im at.

For a free and decent MMORPG goto www.warcry.com. Rubies of Eventide is one of the better free ones I have found.
