HOWDEE folx! Just wanted to stop in and say HEY and update you all on the latest fun I have encountered.
I have the honor of creating a design for a custom guitar to be built by Gibson out of materials from Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty! WOW!
I ran into the guy who had the Liberty Bike built by Orange County Choppers(some of you may watch this show on Discovery Channel) out of original materials salvaged from the Statue of Liberty during restoration.
The guitar is to be "one of a kind," using the basic Les Paul Design. I will be providing the "graphics" that will be on the body and neck of the guitar. Most of it will be a copper inlay(real stuff from Miss Liberty herself). All the hardware will be plated with copper. The body will be made out of one of the original doors from The Ellis Island building.
I am completely amazed at this wonderful oppurtunity to do something that will be a part of our nation's history as well as a celebration of the ideals that the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are a part of.
I will keep you all updated on this exciting moment in history as it progresses. I understand that there could be a documentary filmed around the building of this guitar. WEWT!
I can't express my excitement at being involved in this project!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ JohnCarter, Warlord of Mars

Thats awsome. I saw that bike on Jay Leno one night. Was that Jesse James that built it? Or, the other guys.
Congrats that is the coolest thing I've heard in a while. _________________

Wow that is awesome JCOM.
If no one wants it when it's finished, I'll take it. _________________ Recipient of POTM award
