Hello everyone! It's been a long while since I had a pc at my disposal. It's nice to see The Ville is still runnin strong :hb: Anyway, I got my new pc and loaded HL and updated it to 1.1.1.0 (which is the latest version right?) but I can't get online to play multiplayer due to out-of-date-executable??!! So, I ran Sierra's update utility. It gave me this message "Your version (1.1.1.0) of Half Life is out of date, but there are no updates to update your Half life to the latest version" WTF!!! I searched google for an answer and have only become more frustrated. Please please help I WANT MY DOD BACK lol thanks |

After messin around with Steam for a couple a days, I would have to say it's pretty redundant. If you cant launch the games by yourself, you probably shouldn't be playing online games. Before Steam, DOD ran perfect, now, I can't seem to get on without having a lag storm. But, yet TF plays seamlessly?! What's going on? Granted, I'm trying to catch up on 1 year worth of antiquated technology, but still, where's the gameplay? I don't have 3 hours to spend troubleshooting techy BS. I just want to play for those 3 hours.

I feel your pain. I have spent some time messing with Steam trying to get it to work. If I were to calculate how much time since I first got it then it would add up to a long time. Fortunately though most of the fixes now since I got it running are pretty standard and easy to do. _________________
