Steam & DOD

alright, im at my wits end, and i figured if anyone could help me, it would be someone here (im relatively new to these forums, so be gentle

)

ive been playin DOD using the downloaded version, but i just bought the retail version today. my question is, how do i get this to work with steam? ive tried everything, installing DOD first, then steam, and vice versa. but its the exact same thing every time, i always have to re-dl DOD, and so nothing changes. im tired and frustrated, so am i even making sense? plz help

yeah, well, i dont have all the folders that i should have. i have no sprites folder, while my friend w/the retail version does. he told me there were little differences like that. so that's what im really looking to get.

I don't think steam creates those folders for you. you can create them yourself and put your custom sprites in there.

c:\program files\steam\steamapps\<youremail>\day of defeat\dod\

put your custom content in there. make sprites,maps,sound, etc folders

Even if you have retail, steam will have to download the current version of dod.

alright, thanks, thats all i really needed to know, i wasnt sure if i could throw those folders in there or not
