ok, well it may be my fault this time but whatever, steam still sux.
I just got done building a new computer, with windows XP. Right now everything works correctly. The built in XP firewall is disabled, I'm connected directly from computer to cable modem so no firewall there. Heres my problem.
When I first launch steam it does its business and updates, when thats finished it asks me to log in and I do so under my exsisting account. At that point it attempts to connect but then pops back with a message saying that either I have a problem with my internet connection or the steam network. Soooo any ideas??
I have no antivirus, basically this is a completely new install with just the basic software installed. All updates from Windows have been done. |

Have you tried deleting the clientregistry.blob file I think thats what I did to fix it.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling...deleting the clientregistry.blob file and I can't connect
