ok i set up a practice scim for around 8:15 central on anzio against the Pound You clan. they're good people that i've known for a long time, plus they're another ugl open team so it'll give us an idea of what the competition will be like.
this is just practice, so you can play even if you're not on the official roster.
also if you havent seen it yet... go to the pub-x forums!

i think you can choose to switch teams if you want to, check the ugl site.
congrats to everyone who played in the scrim, that was fun and valuable experience for all.
VD88! bEE+ (who was playing on the other team) is my little brother. i was talking to him after the match and he said:

I missed it but from what Ten told me its all cool. UGL won't let me officially register, so next time you guys practice or scrim as long as its not official I can just jump in if there's room?. I'm trying to decide upon a name for clan play. Here are some of my ideas:

WWHHD? (what would hulk hogan do?)
Crazydiamond (an ode to Pink Floyd)

Only if you sit in spawn and knife/shovel at the ground the entire round. (I know i stole that from dayofdefeat.net forums but it is still funny). You should be able to join/switch teams tomorrow, if not today.
I did pretty bad because i was on the bridge side where their sniper was. I didn't get one lucky shot from a distance.I also need to work on my patience. Its good to get a scrim on, because now we know what we need to work on to get better. It was much more fun an exciting than a regular game. I can't wait to have another match. |

Precisely. It's like a whole different game when everyone's working as a team and your not getting your ankles blown off by dark corner campers.
Before I joined, I was contemplating whether I should play DoD for fun or for obligation. But from what I've seen so far, it's a hell of a lot more fun and intense than your average game in a pub.
People say that there's only so much you can learn in a pub before you stagnate as a player, I think this'll be a good experience for everyone. From what Bee said, I think he was implying that we're all good players considering where we came from - but there's just so much more to learn when you're playing against top notch players. Kind of like phase 2 in the DoD learning process. Thankee Rizzo for putting this together. |
