|
|
I might be converting my HLRally server (TV9) to a NS server. We have two NS server already that get plenty of traffic, maybe we need one more. HLRally get's barely any traffic at all and we have two servers. I thought switching to NS, which is the game I play mostly now, would be better.
The main reason I want to do this is because the HLRally server takes very little work for me to maintain and that's pretty boring. I thought it would be fun to run a NS server which I can add mods to and stuff.
Here's how it would be:
Classic maps only
12 or 16 slots
Some custom maps
A few other addons
I already have all the files uploaded and stuff so when I do decide to convert it, it shouldn't take too long to get it up and running (but who knows...). So should I go for it? _________________

28 slots!!!
or as many as the server can handle +1 for supporters (unless you can set up hidden slots in ns like you can in DoD, but I have never seen that). |

anything over 16 becomes hard to deal with. 16 is plenty. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

16 should be good. 12 is to few and once you hit 18-20 aliens begin getting a hard job. (slower res flow) _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

I'm working on getting the server up right now. The server might be down a lot tonight while I fix errors and stuff. I'll post back when it's working how it should. _________________

anyways, gj Stevo! I love my ns
btw, is there any chance you might be adding a couple siege maps? They are fun for a change of strategy techniques... |
