I've got this "MyWebSearch" program now installed on the computer back at home and I can't figure out how to get rid of the stupid thing. Any ideas as to how to go about that?

Have you tried using AdAware or something to remove it?

Yeah, one of those. And Ad-Aware didn't get rid of it. Also when I try to delete the folder that contains the application it says it's in use. Can't find an "Uninstall" or "Disable" for it either.

I search with both Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search and Destroy. They are both free and find different spyware on my machine. I'd try using that, since you have to get rid of the registry entries as well as the directories. If there is a registry entry for one of those directories you delete, you could wind up getting errors every time you boot up your machine. You could figure out how to search the registry for those entries and get rid of those too, but if Spy Bot can do it for you, it is a lot simpler.

Good Luck,

FingerDemon

I looked at my wifes computer and she had the same thing, as of last night anyways. It was actually in the control panel though. I removed it there and didn't have any issues

GO to this web site and download spyware balster. I will stop this kind of spyware from installing in the first place.

OMG! I have the exact same problem, but its because my mom keeps on clicking on this link that she gets in her email from her friend! I uninstall the damn thing and then she just reinstalls it! AHHH! . I havent had any problems with uninstalling it, it just comes back after shes on the comp using her email account . It is really annoying though.

BRN was right, it's right in the Control Panel, although I can't figure out how I missed seeing it 3 times. Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of this annoying plug-in that redirects to errorpage.com every time a page is unavailable.

This always seems to happen whenever I come back home from school for a while. Annoying technology-declined siblings.
