I was almost taken out by a 32ft. motorhome .
I just went to home depot to pick up some boards for my son karate class for board breaks. I just got onto the freeway and a lady in a car hit something that blew out both of her rear tires and caused her to spin out right in front of the motorhome which slammed into her at 65 mph as she was stopped in the middle of the lane. It crunched the car all the way up to the front seats. She wasn't moving and they were not sure if she will make it or not. The motorhome missed me by about 2 inches how I do not know as I had no where to go. Makes you think on what could happen in a split second. I hope she makes it thruogh it , but it didn't look good as her rear bumper was behind her front seat. We thought there was a young child in the back seat, but turned out to be a clothes basket thankfully. _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

I drive so much every day, I literally have these close calls on a daily basis. When I get home, I'm a nervous wreck sometimes. Other times, I just want to commit extreme road rage.
I've never been in an accident while driving. Although I've been in several whilst not driving.
Most of the near misses I have are caused by complete and utter morons or people who just can not stand to have someone driving in front of them. They have that, "I must gain 1 car length before I turn!" mentality.
I've seen dead people splattered all over the highway several times. Never depend on the other drivers to do what they are supposed to do. They won't. And if by some chance they do, there are always situations like the one you just described. Freak accidents. Glad to hear you made it out ok. _________________ Recipient of POTM award

I hate the leadfoots. If I have one behind me riding my bumper I
always gradually slow down until they get the point and pass me... _________________

Yea its pretty scary when your about to be/almost were hit by a vehicle. It happens alot around here, almost 4 or 5 times this year for me... And the ultimate number one reason why you dont let potatoes drive is ... Hopefully that woman will make it though, thats really gotta suck. Its amazing, cars are suppose to be durable now a days but even still when you get hit by something that big... hopefully she'll make it though. |

The last two summers I have been a courier for my neighbors business. A few times a week I have either been in a very close call or have seen one. I was behind a big pack of cars on a highway heading out of town and a car going across the highway made a bad judgement and got smashed in really bad by the lead car in the pack. It was crazy. The weirdest thing I've seen was a dumptruck full of dirt tip over turning too sharply from an offramp. I saw it from 50 yards away, the sound was deafening. I just could not believe what was happening. The driver was just fine I guess (I read it in the paper the next day).
Glad to see you are ok too! |
