I played FarCry today at my cousin's house and my god its fecking amazing!!! I absolutly love the effects that they added to the game - for example:

I shoot and kill someone when their standing in water what will happen after is:

a) their body will start to leak blood into the water - you can see the cloud effect of the blood moving out from around the body in the water
b) their body will actually drift away
c) if you run over the body with a boat you can make it bleed more
d) if you slash the body with your big knife-thingy you can see the slash marks on the skin areas...

Amazing! I so want this game... Too bad my computers too slow #Fist 800MHz celeron...

Um. Does the game actually play well or is the best thing about it the aforementioned glorified gore?

It runs very well on my cousin's 2.8 GHz geforce 5200 dell comp with all medium/high video and sound settings. The system reqs arent that high either - I could probably run it with a bit of lag.

I'm not going to be dishing out $40-$50 on a game that *might* work on my computer, though.

I mean does it control well? How's the physics engine, damage system and such? Doesn't it use the Havok 2?

The physics are great, the engine runs smoothly, the damage system is really realistic - if your shot in the leg you limp.

Farcry is the shit. i went to a friends house and his dad plays computer games and has this pimped out system. He hooked his comp upto there big widescreen tv and was playin that game, of course his pimp system beats mine in loading times but i went home and dl/d the game again (new gfx card from last time) and besides my 5 min load time, once i got it i was like about to soil myself. The game runs very smooth and ive only expiracnced 1 loading time in the demo and i saw 2 in the real game. But it is cool besides the fact that you can hide in a little patch of bush and they cant shoot at u because they cant "see" you, ya right o well they are very easy AI to kill. I really enjoy this game well the demo atleast.

VP, there is a demo you can try beforehand. From what I hear, the demo doesn't run as smooth as the actual game. If the demo works, you can probably be sure the full game does.

Painkiller is another game that kicks hole. Grab the demos and take a look.

That's exactly the reason I'm not going to buy the game. I downloaded the demo, and couldn't get past the main menu without it freezing or dying on me.

heh. Get the game. I'm playing on med difficulty and it's a beyotch. Especially when you hit the mutant things. Takes about a clip of ammo to kill one. And they have rocket launchers.

Also, med difficulty is the second one. They also have hard and realisitc. I can't imagine trying to play on those settings.

You guys should try the Painkiller demos, that's going to be an awesome insteresting game.

I love running around and nailing monsters the the ground with the stake gun, it punches this big ass stick through them, locational reactive with Havoc. So I like to nail them to the ground, arms and legs, before firing through their head or chest to finish them, or use the painkiller weapon on them to grind them up while they can't do anything....I don't know what the other weapons other than the 4 they let you use in the demo will be like, but I could play for a while just with the painkiller and stake gun nailing zombies and and demons to walls and floors and playing mad surgeon on them, then stealing their soul and becoming god moded for a bit when you harvest enough.

My cousin discovered this today: if you set the graphics levels on high for everything and then knife someone in the gut, you see their guts spill out of their body .
