It is better than the sgt44. The only thing close to the BAR. Just because you can't hand its power doesn't mean its weak.

You must be pretty good if you can hand the power. I've never even heard about handing power in DoD.

LOL n0g0d.

The FG42 is just as powerful as the BAR (63 damage to limbs, 85 to chest, 212 in the skull) but it has a faster rate of fire - and thus - is more difficult to control.

Personally, I find it to be easier to control than the BAR. The BAR is more suseptible to 'cone-fire' misses, but the FG is pretty stable. If you can use it properly it's like a flaming sword. That model has a scope too.

Also, there's no movement penalty (just like the BAR). Every other weapon loses accuracy when you're moving except these two weapons. Now how does that not kick you in the face?

Unless it was changed, your wrong on the damage. It is 37 to limbs, 63 to chest, 85 to neck, and 212 to head; the BAR anyways..

The FG also has a moving penalty, however it 'makes up' for it with its scope, and with its much faster firing rate...unless it was recently changed too.

ive seen people playing with that gun on charlie before and i never could figure out how to get it. when asked about it because i had assumed it was an exploit they would just say its in the map, you just have to find it and i had others in game confirm it too. they just wouldnt tell me where.

Er, no Frank I'm right. You of all people should know that the BAR will kill a player (with full health) with two hits. They also don't have movement penalties, I was watching some videos the other day on the DoD forums that proved this. The thread was called "Is the BAR too powerful?".

Yes two chest shots will, two limb shots will not.

Also i meant the FG having a moving penalty, not the BAR. I know the BAR doesnt.

This is straight from Waldo of DoD's dev. team. http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=a21c4d9ac2eb15162a009d13524def35&threadid=8428

Quote:

Springfield sniper rifle - 160 points per bullet hit (120 if in arms or legs)

30 Cal MG - 85 points per bullet hit (63 if in arms or legs)

Pistol - 40 points per bullet hit (30 if arms or legs)

K43 - 120 points per bullet hit (90 if in arms or legs)

MP40 - 40 points per bullet hit (30 if in arms or legs)

FG42 - 85 points per bullet hit (63 points if in arms or legs)

STG44 - 50 points per bullet hit (37 if in arms or legs)

MG34 - 85 points per bullet hit (63 if in arms or legs)

MG42 - 85 points per bullet hit (63 if in arms or legs)

Pistol - 40 points per bullet hit (30 if arms or legs)

Shovel - 60 points per stab (45 if arms or legs). Can cause one stab death if stabbed in back (?)

Bayonette - 60 points per stab (45 if arms or legs). Can cause one stab death if stabbed in back (?)

I can't find the proof that the FG also has zero movement penalty - but I have seen it. The BAR and the FG share every property except rate of fire - in which the FG's is higher.
