NTVDM.EXE

Has anyone encountered the following:
Just built a new P4, 3.2Ghz, using Win XP Home.
Got most everything loaded and running properly, but when I try to load the 1st disc of HL, it gives me an error message about the NTVDM.EXE will not work.
Or do I really need the original load of HL, with TFC, or will Steam do something about that?

I just formatted my pc and didn't install anything to do with half-life. The only thing I installed was steam and np.

National television death match....

Just reinstall steam and use the same account as you had before. Steam should allow you to reinstall the games from there.

That's good to know. Now I don't need to get my discs when there are problems. Unless they lose my account...
