I got this from the school today.. check it out....

The reputation of Claremont High School is extremely important. It makes a difference for the students applying for college admission and for employment now and in the future. It even makes a difference for those who have already graduated. It affects the value of the home you live in. Tha accreditation of a school is an important piece of its reputation. Unfortunately, some students have stated plans to disrupt the WASC Accreditation review visit at CHS by staging a "senior ditch day" or committing acts of vandalism.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the accreditation visit, all seniors will be required to provide doctor's notes to excuse absences. Those who do not provide doctors' notes will not be allowed to attend the Prom, senior activities, or participate in the graduation ceremony. Students who have exceptional situations should contact the attendance counselor ahead of time to determine the documentation that may be used to clear their absences.

Any student involved in vandalism to the school or a so-called "prank" will be subject to arrest. The student will be recommended for expulsion. An act of vandalism can cause a student to be dropped from Claremont High and lose the privilege of a graduation from CHS, regardless of the student's current grade in school.

I hope that all students will amke responsible choices during the accreditation visit, as well as through the end of the school year.

Sincerely,

Carrie Allen
Principal

(im a senior)

Damn thats insane! We have the same thing here about pranks, but not about senior cut day. Aslo if u get into a fight at school, they could press charges. One kid got into a fight last week and he got a fine of $250 and might spend 15 days in jail!

My wife is a hall don here, and the more that I see, the more I agree with those tough measures.

Pranks may be fun, but there are always a few jerks who do insist on going too far, thus making the entire hall pay.

Sounds like a great day for juniors to skip.

There were no big pranks by our senior class, but I was always looking for ways to make school more enjoyable. Like putting a Nintendo emulator and about 500 games in a secret folder on the network that anyone on the schools network can use.

The week before prom is alcohol awareness week and they had this fake funeral with some of our students as the dead people from drinking. During one of the dead person's speech I got about 50 people to start chanting "Let's go Wild!" really loudly and it pissed a lot of people off. (The Wild is the NHL team in Minnesota).
