Prechaching resources lock-up

I continue to get to the precaching resources in Steam for both TFC and DoD and my computer locks up... I dont understand why this is, Ive redownloaded the update and the games but it seems that its constantly locking up no matter what I do. Ive even resinstalled my VC's drivers to see if that was the problem, however, I still havent found any solution. Anyone know what this problem might be?

Maybe Steam doesn't like you. Steam seems to dislike many people. Maybe you can reinstall.

Increase your pagefile size or free up some memory.

Bah Ive unintalled/reinstalled steam and the games and it still doesnt work. Ive given them full access through my firewall but it still doesnt work... Ive also reinstalled my VC drivers for the billionth time... No avail. I dont get it #Fist

I guarantee nothing Potato, but here a 2 things you can try that I"ve read on other forums have resolved the problem...but you know Steam, what works for one doesnt always work for another.

1) try setting your cl_timeout to 9999 Some people have found out that its freezed up beacuse the timeout was too low.

2) Go to the game, click Properties. Change "Automatic Updates" to "Always keep this game up to date" if its not already done. Close & Restart Steam. Load the game and make sure its 100% loaded before trying to join a server. Apparently, and I can't prove it, but Steam will try to join a server even if its not 100% updated/loaded.

It was, apparently, the 100% loaded deal that you mentioned op. Now I can play TFC and prehaps DoD.

I see you now have it running but I had the same thing yesterday. I exited/logged out of steam, deleted my clientregistry.blob and logged back onto steam and it worked fine.
