I remember that JD posted this video of an apache attacking three insurgents in iraq at night - in NV mode? I was trying to download the file again - to PROVE to a friend that an apache has night vision on it

but the link doesnt work. Does anyone else still have the file?

I think it was infrared, not nightvision.

The Apache uses laser, infrared and other high technology systems – like the Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor – to find, track and attack armored and other targets.

Ask your friend how in the hell does he think it can be flown at night. With a FLASHLIGHT?

Ok, here's the straight dope:
The pilots can fly with night vision, but that shot was done with infrared, there are laser sights and other nice things on their guns, they just might choose to not use them.

Heh, I was extrememly drunk when I posted that last night. I think it took me fifteen minutes to get it so it didn't have any spelling errors or just random keystrokes

Anyways. I remember watching a video of an AC-130 from Afghanistan and I thought I'd give you guys the link to it. The AC-130 is pretty much the baddest groundsupport aircraft we have running. I'd rather have that behemoth over a warthog any day (namely cause warthog pilots tend to kill more friendlies than enemies). But anyways, here's the link, enjoy.
