Hi everyone! It feels great to be back at TheVille!! I've had lots of problems with my cpu and therefore I couldn't frag. But I got xp and and a cable connection so I'm set. By the way, I just wanted to say that cable is wayyy better that dsl. I've had them both and dsl is just not worth the headache. Either the line is always down or bad bandwidth. Cable Rocks!! Anyways, Frag you guys around.

You have cable, huh? Lucky. It seems RCN decided not to provide cable connections in Central New Jersey. Curse them to the deep pits of Hell Incarnate. AAAHHHHZ#*)(!EN&#(*@^EBN

If have cable also and it downright sucks.

It was okay until @home went bankrupt and the nightmare begin. If I'm lucky I only have the reset the modem 3 times a day and pray it works. If I'm unlucky the cable is down all day. And even when it does work every 15 minutes of TFC my ping goes from about 90 to 4095. Sometimes it goes back down and sometimes it doesnt. Today was pretty average and my cable went out 6 times. I've pretty much lost my sanity and started playing pyro just because I can manage with a ping of 1500. With all my deaths I figured wtf and am now attempting to kill with all of the weapons.

I have Time-Warner cable (RoadRunner) and I am rather happy with it. I just sent an mp3 to my roommate at his house in Hawai`i, and it only took about a minute. I was rather surprised and happy about that.

Chen, I know what you mean about the resetting of the modem, I think that is perhaps the WORST design flaw I have seen in a while. It is a broadband connection, and a static signal, so why is it that you are pretty much forced to cycle a modem that is meant to be left on.

Ah well, I guess until a person with common sense designs one, we will have to be prostrate to motorola or whoever makes your cable modem.

Chen, you might want to call and complain about the bad pings. I went through a six-week or so period where my cable modem gave me a 1000+ ping to most servers. I called and complained and they finally admitted there was some kind of configuration problem. They sent me coupons for some free PPV movies and eventually fixed it. Hello 60 ping again!

JEDI, good to see you back. Can you do something to get N'SYNC out of the next Star Wars movie? WTF is that about?

I have noticed the severe lack of BGS presence here in the ville lately..I was starting to wonder about you guys. Don't let us Up-staters have all the fun now...

Thanks for the advice TYO but I already tried calling them. Was on hold for 3 freakin hours and gave me a bunch of useless information. They told me I shouldn't be able to even connect to the interent with the modem I have. HAHA right. What am I doing now. They said 80% of the people in DFW who had their cable service was expierence some kind of problem connecting to the internet ever since @home went bankrupt. Not much they can do right now.
