|
|
Hi,
I have a AOpen Cobra AW-840 sound card.
When in windows my mic works fine but it will not work in steam. When i go to the voice tab in DoD and test my mic it will not pick up sound. I have no idea to whether this is a .cfg problem or not but it is getting frustrating. Aopen's website says it also supports Full Duplex http://usa.aopen.com/products/sound/aw840.htm
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

first, does steam show you as talking when you press the microphone key? (it shows your name on the right in a red or green box..just like when others talk)
if it does, open up volume controls, go options | properties. choose recording. hit ok. make sure that your microphone is selected. it shouldnt matter if your mic is muted or not (under the playback setting) thats jsut whether you hear your own voice through your speakers or not...i recommend muted so you dont get any feedback. |

Aopen's website says that my sound card has Full Duplex, so I don't think it is my problem unless it is not working correctly. Would there be any way to enable\disable it? My sound card is also newer than the one on thier webisite because it had a newer driver included than what was on the site, it is half the size of the one in the picture, and it has a high bar-code #(I'm guessing it is newer from those things).
I tried to use it in CS as a mod to half-life (i didn't go through steam) and it still did not work. Would deleting all of it's driver and reinstalling them help? I am sick of typing to my team when they need info fast.
Thanks for the help so far, if you need any more info please ask. |
